Welcome Sisters

This is our own Relief Society site for our ward. It is a in an effort to bring us closer together. It is another way to feel a part and be connected. This is like another newsletter. I hope you find it encouraging and supportive in our sisterhood. Enjoy!!

Book Club's new book

Tally is about to turn sixteen, and she can't wait. Not for her license -- for turning pretty. In Tally's world, your sixteenth birthday brings an operation that turns you from a repellent ugly into a stunningly attractive pretty and catapults you into a high-tech paradise where your only job is to have a really great time. In just a few weeks Tally will be there. But Tally's new friend Shay isn't sure she wants to be pretty. She'd rather risk life on the outside. When Shay runs away, Tally learns about a whole new side of the pretty world -- and it isn't very pretty. The authorities offer Tally the worst choice she can imagine: find her friend and turn her in, or never turn pretty at all. The choice Tally makes changes her world forever.

In the Kitchen with...

In the Kitchen with Lana.
We had a delightful time learning how to make a Russian dish called "Pelmeni". It is like a dumpling you cook in chicken broth. It was a fun evening with friends and so good to learn a new traditional food from another country. Thanks Lana!!!

Pelmeni
dough:
2 cups flour
2 eggs
3/4 t salt
1/2 cup water
mix, then refrigerate until cool
meatballs:
1lb ground beef
1/2 lb ground pork
1 onion diced
soy sauce
salt and pepper
roll out dough and cut in little rounds. Form meatballs with your hands. Place one meat ball in the middle of each dumpling, fold and pinch into a crescent then fold the corners up.
when you have a tray of them you can freeze them and make into soup later OR drop them into boiling broth, cook until they float and then serve with dill, soy sauce and sour cream.

Forrest Hill Farm

What a great Day at the Farm. The kids played on the train. Everyone got a hay ride. Everyone got lost in the corn maze. Picking a pumpkin, seeing animals, laughing, and playing on all the toys. The kids and adults had loads of fun. What a great start to the FALL SEASON!!
